Mike's Credentials
The USAF provided Mike with a jump start into a satisfying career working on interesting projects in aero-space electronics. Mike's Electricity Training Module is a reflection of his early training about the fundamentals of electricity. Understanding the fundamentals made it easy for him to adapt to many different interesting applications.
Mike majored in drafting during high school and was art editor of the high school newspaper during his senior year. He joined the U.S. Air Force and was assigned to attend an electronics school; then maintained the radar system on an advanced fighter aircraft of the post Korea period, (Convair F-102A). Upon completion of his active duty, he worked in the aerospace industry for 15 years, holding several technical jobs. He was an ICBM missile technician, a flight simulator engineering technician, logic designer, systems engineer, and project manager.
Mike went to college during evenings and earned a B.S.B.A. that became his ticket to technical product sales. He ran a marketing department for 3 years, supervised the preparation of bids and proposals, participated in the writing of technical manuals and proposals for aircraft training equipment, and traveled with the Sales VP as technical advisor during proposal presentations at customer locations throughout the U.S., Europe and the Middle East. Tiring of the extensive travel, changed careers in 1977, joining a large manufacturer of test and measurement instruments. Mike specialized in RF/microwave and Optical test equipment and enjoyed a successful technical sales career. He was active in the development of PC based computer programs for controlling test instruments remotely over a telephone line. He also earned an MBA while working in a long sales career. He worked for a year as a Computer Consultant for a company that installed CTI software into Industry Call Centers before retiring in 2001. Then he worked part time developing technical manuals and doing computer consulting for a small business.
He enjoys stylizing and restoring photographs using digital imaging techniques. Past hobbies have been portrait and wedding photography, and assembling PCs. A hard fall on winter ice in January '07 disabled Mike for a long period, so during recouperation, he began religious study, eventually compiling the results of his studyinto an organized piece of work to help improve his understanding of his religion. It's called "My Faith Discovery." Although he is recouperated now, the project continues to be an ongoing one.
